What would beginning therapy look like?
I offer free phone consultations to help determine if I am the right therapist for your needs. During this consultation, we will talk for 15-20 minutes about your reasons for seeking therapy, your background, and your schedule, as well as fees and policies. We will also talk about your questions or concerns about starting therapy and mutually determine if I am the right therapist for you. If we determine you would be a better fit with another therapist, I provide trusted referrals.
The first sessions are a chance for us to get to know one another, how we might specifically work toward your goals, and to help you feel comfortable in therapy.
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider, meaning that I do not accept payment directly from insurance companies. However, most insurance plans offer coverage for out-of-network mental health services.
Depending on your out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for 50-80% of your session cost. Prior to beginning treatment, I suggest calling your insurance company and asking the following:
Does my plan include coverage for individual outpatient psychotherapy sessions with an out-of-network provider?
What is my out-of-network deductible and has it been met?
How many sessions does my plan cover per calendar year?
Do I need a pre-authorization?
How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?
I will provide you with documentation monthly that you can submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement.
